PRESENTATION by Moshe Mikanovsky
This leadership conversation explores UX professionals transitioning to Product Management roles. Join us to discuss how UX design and research expertise creates strong foundations for product management roles while identifying gaps in business acumen, technical prioritization, and stakeholder management.

The conversation topics include what are suitable skills, creating personalized professional development paths, and establishing effective mentorship structures. We will explore what happens when UX professionals shift from advocacy and supporting roles to product goal setting and product success, accountability, develop financial literacy, and build roadmap management skills.

Lastly, we will discuss the best practices when Product Managers and product owners successfully blend good UX and human understanding with business objectives, delivering market-successful products that maintain exceptional experiences while achieving strategic organizational goals and success targets.

Moshe MikanovskyPRESENTER BIO: Moshe Mikanovsky is a product management leader who started his career on the engineering side, specifically within the enterprise B2B software space. He fell in love with product management after seeing the gap that existed between what customers wanted and what engineering produced. Moshe enjoys applying his lean iterative approach to develop products that exceed users’ expectations.

He is Founder and Product Coach at Products for Good, helping startup founders avoid costly product mistakes so they can create more good in the world, and Product Director at Rootquitent. Through both organizations, he mentors and coaches at accelerators and incubators such as Founder Institute, DMZ, Innovation Cluster, and ChaiTech to name a few.

In 2023 Moshe started teaching Information System at Schulich School of Business at York University. He has since designed and taught a new MBA course in Design Thinking.

Moshe co-hosts the Product for Product Podcast where he talks about products that product professionals use, and hosts Rootquotient’s Beyond Product podcast.

He published his debut novel The Resurrector in January 2022.

BREAK-OUT SESSION: Tedde van Gelderen, president of Akendi, will facilitate mini-group sessions to discuss best practices with UX (and PM) professionals with varying degrees of experience so that we can learn from each other.  Highlights will then be shared so that everyone can benefit from the wisdom of the full audience.
