Interested in getting more value from UX research - either as a producer (researcher) or consumer (designer, product manager) of research? This talk shares reflections and provocations on a mix tape of UX research practices in an engaging format that includes activities and discussion.

UX Research Mix Tape
Side A: Research questions

  • Track 1: Pushing the envelope of what the team is willing to consider
  • Track 2: Transforming sponsors’ questions into research questions
Side B: Research results
  • Track 3: Crafting research that preserves freedom of action
  • Track 4: Inserting breathing room between findings and recommendations

Paul McInerney is a UX researcher with over 20 years of experience. He writes and presents regularly on a wide range of UX-related topics including AI/ML and UX, Agile and UX, and the craft of UX research.  He is also a volunteer executive member of TorCHI. In his spare time during COVID, he enjoys streaming, reading, cooking, walking, and trying to beat family members at Scrabble (with limited success).
