The Inclusive Media Design Centre (IMDC) is challenging stereotypical notions of accessibility, breaking down barriers to technology, education, entertainment and healthcare, through its Inclusive Design methodology; creating opportunities for innovative solutions that meet a range of diverse human sensory experiences and perceptions along with differences in culture, gender, age, place and education.
Since 1996, the IMDC has developed more than 50 different Assistive Technology (AT) projects with the assistance of graduate and undergraduate students, post-doctoral fellows and numerous industry collaborators, other EDI institutions, community organizations, such as Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) and Canadian Hearing Society, and international collaborators.

Experience 2 hands-on demonstrations of on-going projects:
- WebMoti-Employ: Real-time interview support for neurodiverse job seekers
- MyMissionMyRecord (MMMR): a mobile application to support Canadian veterans living with chronic pain
And, attend 2 presentations by undergraduate and graduate students on their on-going work:
- Differences between automatic and human-generated closed captions for D/deaf viewers
- Understanding how older adults evaluate health information in search results: The role of bias, ranking, and visual attention
Please arrive early to make sure that you can find the right room and get settled by 7pm. The tour is on the 9th floor and referred to as "TRS3."
